Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Amy Coney Barrett’s affirmation to the Supreme Court was a “great birthday present” for Hillary Clinton.
The wry comment about the previous official applicant, who turned 73 on Monday, came during a mission stop in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
“It was a great birthday present for Hillary Clinton to affirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court Monday night on her birthday,” McConnell (R-Ky.) told his allies on Wednesday. “Goodness, I’m certain she was so appreciative, so thankful.”
Clinton contradicted Barrett’s designation to the most noteworthy court of the land and vented on Twitter Monday.
“It is an affront to the American individuals that the GOP is smashing through a Supreme Court equity with only eight days until the finish of a political decision in which almost 60 million individuals have just casted a ballot,” she composed.
