The state will make free COVID vaccines accessible to guests showing up at key airports beginning on June 1, Gov. Mike Dunleavy declared Friday, some portion of the Republican’s work to support the state’s ambushed tourism industry.
“What we’re saying to our vacationers is in the event that you come to Alaska … you get a free vaccination, on the off chance that you need one,” Dunleavy said. “You come in you need a shot, you stay with Alaska you get a shot. You don’t need to pay for it. We’ll have things set up at the airport and we’ll take care of you.”
The vaccinations will be accessible at both the Anchorage and Fairbanks global airports and “we’re having discussions with a couple different airports” the lead representative said.
The Frozen North purportedly has an excess of vaccines and made them accessible to all inhabitants over a month prior. The state reports a sum of only 329 COVID passings since the flare-up started over a year prior.
