Amazon will fully fund college educational cost for more than 750,000 of its frontline employees, the online business monster said on Thursday, increasing its determination to draw in and hold workers in a tight domestic labor market.
It intends to spend about $1.2 billion in the following four years on its US employees, funding full college educational cost and secondary school recognitions, including English proficiency certifications just as upskilling programs, it said in a blogpost.
The move would assist Amazon with drawing in ability and meat up its conveyance network and fulfillment center staff, when labor deficiencies have left organizations scrambling to fill vacancies and equilibrium remote and in-office work in a returning economy.
Amazon said it had seen a flood in applications to take part in schooling programs since the beginning of the pandemic, as employees looked to upskill. It offers various upskilling programs remembering for Amazon Web Services, its distributed computing unit that saw request shoot up because of remote work.
