Previous California Sen. Barbara Boxer was assaulted and robbed while strolling in Oakland on Monday evening.
The ex-congresswoman, 80, who resigned in 2017, said she was assaulted by an assailant in the city’s Jack London Square area.
“All things considered, he pushed me exceptionally hard,” Boxer later revealed to Oakland’s KPIX.
“It’s difficult for me to depict what happened on the grounds that it was so quick, yet, when I began to move away from him, he came behind me, pushed me hard, and afterward before I could fall it resembled he got my telephone in front, so it’s only difficult to assemble all.”
Without distinguishing Boxer, Oakland police affirmed a robbery happened in the neighborhood on the 300 block of third Street at about 1:15 p.m.
The presume punched the previous administrator toward the back and took her telephone prior to escaping in a holding up vehicle, as per a statement on Boxer’s Twitter page.
“She is appreciative that she was not genuinely harmed,” the statement said.
Oakland police have not reported any captures or delivered a portrayal of the suspect.
Boxer portrayed the cheat as a “kid.”
“I said, ‘For what reason would you do this to a grandmother?’ I was shouting at the child as he was running with my telephone,” Boxer said.
“I said ‘I need to call my grandchildren, for what reason are you doing this?’ He could mind less. He got in the vehicle. Yet, I trust he has some blame.”
