Many mask-less suburbanites were spotted breezing by Port Authority cops on the primary day of the organization’s $50 fine for mask rebelliousness Monday.
Between 1 p.m. furthermore, 3 p.m. on Monday, a Post correspondent tallied 42 unique individuals entered the Port Authority Bus Terminal’s south passage without masks on.
Port Authority cops positioned at the passageway declined to remark — or take any requirement activities against most violators.
The travel office established the $50 fine for any individual who won’t mask-up in any of its offices, including the transport terminal and every one of the three of the New York district’s significant air terminals.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo initiated his own personal fine on MTA travel properties in September.
Up until now, genuine fines on MTA frameworks have been genuinely restricted — authorities state the monetary punishment is simply a “instrument” intended to empower more consistence.
A Port Authority representative repeated the MTA’s line.
“We’re seeing more than 95 percent willful consistence with mask-wearing at our offices, including at the Midtown Bus Terminal,” representative Lindsay Kryzak said in an assertion.
