Record number of COVID-19 positive cases at last week in American children

In excess of 61,000 American youngsters tried positive for Covid a week ago — the most elevated measure of any seven-day length since the pandemic started, new information shows.

The quantity of new cases among kids was accounted for by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association, who have been gathering week after week Covid numbers the nation over.

From Oct. 22 to Oct. 29, a record 61,447 kids tried positive, the report shows.

“This is an unmistakable token of the effect this pandemic is having on everybody – including our kids and young people,” American Academy of Pediatrics President Sally Goza said in an assertion.

“This infection is profoundly infectious, and as we see spikes in numerous networks, kids are bound to be contaminated, as well.”

Generally, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 853,000 youngsters have contracted COVID-19.

AAP says they gather information from 49 states, New York City, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and Guam.

Times of those considered youngsters fluctuate by state. In New York City, for instance, those up to age 17 are viewed as youngsters.

In Tennessee and South Carolina, the age range for kids is 0 to 20.
